Diggy Simmons Sweet 16

Diggy Simmons, son to RUN DMC member Rev Run, celebrated his 16th birthday which was March 21st. Joined by his big sister Angela Simmons as well as friends Justin Combs(son to P.Diddy) and Quincy Brown(step-son to P.Diddy) Diggy celebrated at a bowling alley in New York City, Lucky Strike Lanes. Other guests in attendance were Diggy's father, Rev Run, Diggy's Uncle, Russell Simmons(brother to Rev Run), Floyd Mayweather and Bow Wow.


And to go along with the name, Diggy has inherited the hustle! This past year alone, Diggy has been featured on the cover of XXL: 2011 Freshmen, performed at the XXL Freshmen concert alongside his father and dropped his mixtape! And for the icing on the cake, Diggy was presented with a chocolate cake decorated with the logo for his sneaker brand, Chivalrous Culture! You go boy & happy birthday! <3

This is the first photo released since his last "hair outburst" and Brown has received bittersweet feedback. Some love it, some hate it but, all cannot deny!

One month ago from yesterday, the handsome R&B singer bleached his hair completely blonde, and although the jokes came rolling in from that Twitpic...fans have grown to love! On comments posted in regards to this picture, fans requested the blonde be brought back!

This past Wednesday, the 23rd, the lovely Lala Vasquez-Anthony(wife to Carmelo Anthony, New Your Knicks NBA Star) stopped by New York's radio station Power 105.1 and joined the Breakfast Club! LaLa not only diffused the rumors regarding Carmelo's faithfulness to her but she also discussed her thoughts on VH1's television reality show,Basketball Wives, Kim Kardashian's song, and sending nude pictures out of herself...

When I had a regular boyfriend women were throwing at him, it comes with the territory of having a man to begin with. What I do is, I don't entertain that. That story is laughable... Let me just tell you one thing, if I knew about a baby... first of all, what kind of women would it make me to say, "Hide your kid"? Baby from Notorious B.I.G.'s Album 'Ready to Die' Revealed

Many rumors and assumptions speculated after the late, Notorious B.I.G. dropped his debut album, 'Ready to Die' regarding the cover. Ready to Die's album cover featured an African-American male baby with an afro and nothing on but a diaper. Some thought the picture was one of Biggie's childhood while others thought the child was one of rapper, P. Diddy's kids. However, all were wrong. The photograph was of a young man, now 18 years old, by the name of Keithroy Yearwood.

Yearwood participated in an interview with the New York Daily News, telling how his well known baby picture is mistaken for a publicity plea as of today...
Every time people find out, they ask me if I got a lot of money out of it.
Which in reality, he didn't. Only coming out with $150 for the two hour photo shoot, Yearwood is constantly mistaken as a lifetime profitee.

The Bronx native goes on to tell the NY Daily,

I just want people to know that's me. The truth is finally coming out.

In continuing to prove Yearwood's claim, his mother, Delcenia Burns, dug up photos and papers from the child modeling agency(Chicky's Kids) to reveal her son's truth.

Yearwood also explains that he talks very little about the album cover because people find it hard to believe at yet he is very honored, telling NY Daily News that his favorite songs off of the album or Biggie's hits, 'Juicy' and 'Big Poppa'.

Snoop Dogg's Tattoo in Honor of Nate Dogg

Yesterday, March 26th, the late Nate Dogg was put to rest in his hometown, Long Beach, California. Nate Dogg, a G-Funk artist passed away this past week at the age of 42. With many health complications, Nate Dogg was finally taken home and in honor of his death one of his best friend's, rapper Snoop Dogg, got a tattoo of Nate Dogg's face on his forearm with script reading, "All Doggs Go To Heaven".

Done by the well-known tattoo artist, Mister Cartoon late Friday, the 25th, Snoop pays tribute to his long lost friend in another sympathetic gesture.

When Wiz Was 17

There once was a clean-body, no hair Wiz Khalifa. Yes, he was once 17...featured on MTV's television show "When I Was 17", which shows celebrities now as they were at that age and what they did from personal interviews, Wiz let's us go back in time with him...

Wiz always had the rapper ambition inside of him, said to have sold mixtapes in his high school's hallways.

His love for tattoos was also shown during the age of 17, letting us all in on his right arm history. The name Wiz Khalifa was tatted on him that young in life.

Wiz, and his mom Peachie will testify, says he was the life of the party. He walked around with a brush(typical pretty boy), and always rocked the Chucks because those shoes were affordable and fit his budget.

Ochocinco Leaves Football to Play Futbol!

By way of ESPN, Cincinnati Bengals' wide receiver, Chad Ochocinco, has been asked by a Sporting Kansas City(a MLS soccer team) to participate in a game this Monday against a local squad.

Ochocinco has previously mentioned his desire to play soccer rather than football and response has started a four-day trial with Sporting Kansas City's reserve team this past Wednesday. It has been reported that Ochocinco's lack of play, as far as soccer, showed at yet one of Sporting KC's spokesman, Dave Borchardt stated, "This is not unusual", continuing on to report that Ochocinco will be playing in Monday's game.

Meanwhile, Ochocinco went ahead and stood ground for his love for soccer and his seriousness in his decision to play...

This past Wednesday, the 23rd, Keri Hilson(via Vevo) released her new video to her single, One Night Stand which features Chris Brown. Directed by Colin Tilley, the video showcases a steamy chemistry between Hilson & Brown as well as, compared to other videos in today's R&B industry, a G-Rated dance performance.

Hilson tells Rap-Up, "If TLC & Jodeci did a record together, 'One Night Stand' is what I imagine it would sound like". I beg to differ! Although the song is catchy & unlike Hilson's other work, it still lacks that true R&B essence in which TLC & Jodeci's did not. Check it out for yourself...

The Game-Death Becomes Her Review

Okay everybody, I know I've been neglecting BET's TV show, The Game but I have not forgotten! I have, in fact, been watching every episode but couldn't find the courage to write a piece on the show because of poor material. BET, in my opinion, has made this season overly dramatic, ghetto and random. However, last night's episode was definitely a favorite.

Death Becomes Her, the name of the episode, shows Tasha Mack in a whole new light. Of course, a man had to do with that! Bo, currently fighting a battle against Cancer, has come into Tasha's life suddenly and left even faster! Melanie and Derwin discuss starting a family but for all the wrong reasons and Malik still bathes in his depressing ass life!

Starting off with Tasha and Melanie discussing their current lives over cocktails(or in Tasha's case, some Heem & Coke. See? That's the "typical ghetto-ness" I'm talking about!) Tasha notices Melanie's attention is elsewhere(texting Derwin). Tasha then tells Melanie to leave and be with her man. As Melanie exits, an unfamiliar face approaches Tasha and blatantly expresses how his evening with Tasha should be spent...(; However, his approach was so unimpressive and very disrespectful but hey, I'm old fashioned! =/ It then flashes to the two running in their underwear in the middle of the street, definitely a WTF moment!

As we get into Tasha's spur-of-the-moment love fest, we learn that Bo is dying and lives life down to each second. Tasha is inspired and chooses to follow his lead..creating an amazing "Bucket List" which includes riding an elephant in India and spending a night with Keith Sweat! (Loved the entire Bucket List idea & definitely loved Tasha's list! Thinking about creating my own! Hmm...) Meanwhile, the Davis' are at home timing ovulating cycles and fertilizing and sperm counting, etc...but they are totally and completely off and not in sync! Derwin explains to Melanie that she will have to wait for his loving...but the WAY he said it..."I promise, when I get home...Ima give it to you real good!" had me WEAK! LOL, excuse that! (; Y'all know Derwin is my M-A-N though!

Derwin then leaves Melanie's side and tends to Malik's. Malik who is drowning himself in his own sorrows gives in and decides to attend a conference with Derwin and the owner, Rahj(Micheal Beach) Now, the question is...Why is Derwin really doing this? Is it to save his own career or is he a honest and loyal friend? I must say, Derwin was definitely trying to save Malik's sorry ass during that meeting, but Rahj made a simple yet powerful statement, "You have a wife, don't you Derwin?"(Beach did an excellent job on last night's show! Bravo to him!) and silence cuts like a knife! Rahj explains how he will keep Malik on the team yet play him like a second string qb! Cold world but Malik deserves everything coming his way! Karma is a BIABIA!

While Malik struggles in his life, his mama sure doesn't! Handing out device like a real Buddhist, Tasha finds Melanie in her need-a-baby stage and advises her to slow down.(Why is Melanie so desperate to build a family or as she says, legacy anyway? Tacky!) "Take it easy. All you gotta do is make mad, romantic love to your husband and if a baby comes the so be it. Everything in it's own time"-Tasha. (Absolutely LOVE her quotes!) Later that evening though...she lived LIFE! (; Being escorted into a room by Bo, Tasha is blindfolded only to reveal a candlelit dinner set for two. Not impressed and bored, Tasha tells Bo it was unlike him and BAM, Keith Sweat shows up serving Jumbalaya! (I thought Bo was too dope for bringing in Mr. Sweat via Tasha's bucket list! &YESS, Keith still got it ladies! #MajorSwag!) Extremely wu'd, Tasha and Bo creep off into the night side by side! MHM!

Now Tasha ain't the only one getting some in San Diego! Derwin and Melanie finally decide to stop having let's-have-a-baby sex and decided to make love! Although the "creating a legacy" plan did pop-up! But, Derwin kept mentioning his legacy and his kids...what's up with that?

After all the commotion, Melanie and Derwin are found laying side by side thinking of their future together and laughing in each other's presence! I thought that was so cute and absolutely fell in love with this episode because of that! I missed the love and affection this show used to display. FINALLY some real romance on this show! But I must admit, when Melanie screamed, "Put a baby in me Derwin!"...WTF Moment!

We end the show with Tasha waking up alone, of course. Yet she finds an envelope with a handwritten note that read, "Sorry you never made it to India", accompanying the note was a jade elephant necklace! (Again, Bo is sooo dope for that. & I must say, if a man EVER writes me a handwritten note and/or letter...he will have my heart!)

Overall, it was a good show and I cannot WAIT until next week's episode! (: Don't miss! It's the FINALE! (:(:(:

Nate Dogg & Snoop Dogg - Never Leave Me Alone (R.I.P. Nate)

As you all may know, Nathaniel Hale better known as Nate Dogg, died on Tuesday, March 15, 2011. I chose to hold off on writing a piece on this incident because of previous rumors about Nate Dogg's death. Not to mention, nobody knew what exactly caused this incident to happen. My love and condolences to the family of Nate Dogg; I was truly a fan!

Nate Dogg, a Long Beach, California native, was known for his smooth and melodic hooks on many Hip-Hop tracks. Featured on songs from many artists including Ludacris, Mos Def, and Dr. Dre, Nate Dogg's camaraderie with Snoop Dogg and Warren G. The three linked up to form a Hip-Hop group, 213, and produced Hip-Hop favorites to many.

In recent years, Nate Dogg suffered from two strokes; one in December of 2007 and another to follow in September 2008. Nate Dogg's second stroke led him to becoming paralyzed on his entire left side. Suffering from major health complications, Nate Dogg died this past week at the age of 41.

Again, my love and prayers to the family of Nate Dogg! You will be remembered and always celebrated! Have fun in heaven, G! Enjoy one of Nate Dogg's best...
